Dr. Michael has worked in the veterinary field since he was 14. He began cleaning cages and walking dogs in the boarding facility of a small animal clinic in Florida. He worked his way up to become a technician and then went off to vet school at Mississippi State University. He practiced for five years at that clinic before leaving Florida to purchase a clinic in southeastern Connecticut. Dr. Mike heard the mountains calling and decided to sell his practice to his associate in June of 2015 so he could have his dream of living in the mountains. He has three dogs and three cats, all rescues. Alta, Trixie, Belgo, Norm, Pango, and Freya . He is a big supporter of rescuing and adopting animals. In addition to veterinary medicine, Dr. Mike enjoys long distance running, weight lifting, alpine skiing, backcountry skiing, hiking, target shooting, and taking his Jeep off road.

Alta Girl started at the clinic in the spring of 2021, at only 4 months of age. While she doesn’t have any official certifications, she has learned on the job. Her specialities include patient recovery after anesthesia and helping anxious patients in exam rooms. She is the most eager employee at Alpine Animal Hospital and is always willing to help her fellow employees and patients. Her hobbies include running/hiking with her dad, peak bagging and spending time with her family. She also donates blood when necessary to help patients. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated little worker at the clinic.

Sable has been here since the opening of the clinic in August of 2015 as the certified head technician. Sable was born and raised in Utah. She first went to culinary arts school but decided it wasn’t her passion, so she went to go investigate the veterinary technology program. She found her calling being a veterinary technician. She graduated from Broadview University in 2014 and became certified in the state of Colorado in 2015. She enjoys cooking, playing games (both board games and video games), camping, hunting, and going for rides with her dog, Shadow. Shadow (Yorkie mix) was a rescue that was going to be abandoned with severe back issues. She ultimately had to have back surgery to return the use of her back legs. After around the clock care Shadow begun taking steps with her back legs and now Sable can’t stop her from running and playing. Sable is so overjoyed she still has her Shadow.
